NARASI KAMPANYE PENYALONAN AHOK MENGGUNAKAN CLEAR LINE STYLE PADA PILKADA DKI JAKARTA 2017

The 2014 Indonesian presidential election, featuring candidates Prabowo-Hatta and Jokowi-JK, gave rise to phenomena of black campaigns and negative campaigns. Amid this heated campaign atmosphere, Berakar Komunikasi Agency (BKA) produced a series of creative campaigns to support the Jokowi-JK ticket. This campaign, titled "Kisah Blusukan Jokowi," utilized a visual style reminiscent of Tintin comics, known as the clear line style. The narrative projected the hope for an ideal leader with traits similar to Tintin. Jokowi was depicted with attributes akin to Tintin, such as engaging in impromptu visits (blusukan), being polite, and action-oriented. BKA reused the clear line style to support Basuki Tjahaya Purnama (Ahok) in the 2017 Jakarta gubernatorial election. However, Jokowi's polite political image contrasted sharply with Ahok's fiery temperament. Ahok's communication style was distinctly different from Tintin's politeness. Additionally, BKA employed the clear line style to campaign for Ganjar Pranowo in the 2024 presidential election. This study aims to explore the campaign narrative of Ahok's candidacy using the clear line style in the 2017 Jakarta gubernatorial election. Utilizing a descriptive qualitative method, primary data were obtained through in-depth interviews with three informants who are founders and the creative team of BKA. The research findings conclude that the clear line style in Ahok's support campaign is both a "signature" and a "political statement" from BKA
